How to Make an Incredible Income in Your Home Business

What do almost all home-based businesses have in common? They all require selling some type of product or service. Right. Or at least driving traffic to a Website in order to earn some type of compensation. Directly or indirectly, your business is designed to sell. And the more you "sell" the more money you make. Right? So why do so many people fail in their home-based businesses? Why does the average home-based business owner close up shop after six months of operation? What separates the successful business owner from the unsuccessful ones?

There are a lot of factors actually. Commitment, the type of product or service you're selling, how you are being instructed to market your business, your attitude about home-based businesses, your beliefs about success and failure, the temperature of the sun during leap year, etc.

Let's narrow it down to activity. Because attitude and activity determine sales. So what is needed to become successful and make a lot of money with this business? An understanding of the A+B+C=D principle.

"A" is your inventory of leads. "B" is the number of presentations made to those leads. "C" is the number of signups resulting from the presentations. "D" is the money you receive from each signup.

So "A" represents your phone leads if you are using the phone to contact prospects. "B" is the number of times those people you speak to visit http://www.retirein10years.com and watch the movie. "C" is the number of people you help get signed up for this business. "D" is the amount of money you earn by helping people get signed up. An example of A+B+C=D:

A: You spoke with 50 people this week. B: 40 people watched the movie on the Website. C: You helped 30 people sign up for this business. D: You earned $1,050. (30*$35)=$1050.

So what is needed to become successful and make a lot of money with this business? Well if you want more of "D" you need more of "A", "B", and "C".

Why You Should Promote Residual Affiliate Programs

Are you a webmaster in need of additional income?  Or are you planning to set up an online business but you still don't have any product to sell?  If so, affiliate marketing may be the best solution for your problems.  With affiliate marketing, you won't need to worry about the products you have to sell.  All you need to have is a website with sufficient contents that are related to the products of a certain online company offering affiliate programs.  By becoming a member of the program, or by becoming an affiliate, you can start earning a certain amount of money right away!

Affiliate marketing is some sort of business relationship established between a merchant and his affiliates.  In affiliate marketing, an affiliate agrees to direct some traffic to a merchant's website.  If that traffic is converted into some kind of action, like a visitor purchasing a product on the merchant's website or a visitor becoming a lead for the company, the affiliate who directed the traffic will be compensated.  Compensation may take the form of either a percentage sales commission for the sales generated or a fixed fee predetermined upon the application of the affiliate on the merchant's affiliate program.

Promising a lot of benefits both for the merchants and the affiliates, affiliate marketing has become one of the most popular online marketing methods today.  In fact, almost every merchant or retailer site today offers an affiliate program that any one can join into.  Most retailers would entice people to become affiliates or members of their program by promising great benefits like large commissions, lifetime commissions, click through incomes and a lot of other benefits.  But would all these affiliate programs bring off the same benefits?

Most affiliate programs would pay you, as an affiliate, a one-time commission for every sale or lead you brought to the merchant's website.  Commissions for this kind of affiliate programs are usually large, ranging from 15% to a high of about 60%.  Other affiliate programs would pay you a fixed fee for every click through or traffic you send to the merchant's site.  Programs like this often pay a smaller fee for every click through, usually not getting any larger than half a dollar.  The good thing about this kind of program, however, is that the visitor won't have to purchase anything in order for the affiliate to get compensated.

Another type of affiliate program is the residual income affiliate program.  Residual affiliate programs usually pay only a small percentage of sales commission for every sale directed by the affiliate to the merchant's site.  This commission often comes only in the range of 10% to 20% sales commission.  Because of this, many people ignore residual affiliate program and would rather opt for the high paying one-time commission affiliate program.  Are these people making a mistake, or are they making the right decision?

We can't tell, for sure, if people are making a mistake by choosing a high paying one-time commission affiliate program.  But we can definitely say that they are making a large mistake if they ignore residual affiliate programs.  Residual affiliate programs would indeed pay at a lower rate, but merchants offering such kind of programs would generally pay you regular and ongoing commissions for a single affiliate initiated sale!  That means, for the same effort you made in promoting a particular affiliate program, you get paid only once in a one-time commission program, and a regular and ongoing commission for a residual program!

So, are the benefits of promoting residual affiliate programs clearer to you now?  Or are they still vague?  If they are still vague, then let's make them a bit clearer with this example.

Suppose there are two online merchants both offering web hosting services on their sites.  The first merchant offers a one-time commission type of affiliate program that pays $80 for every single affiliate initiated sale.  The second merchant also offers an affiliate program, but this time a residual affiliate program that pays only $10 for every single affiliate initiated sale.  As an affiliate, we may get attracted at once at what the first merchant is offering, as $80 is definitely a lot larger than $10.  But by thinking things over before actually getting into them, one may be able to see that the second merchant is offering us more opportunity to earn a larger amount of money.

Supposed you have directed traffic to the merchant and it converted into a sale, you'll get paid once by the first merchant for the sale you have initiated.  But with the second merchant, you'll get paid monthly for as long as the customer you have referred to the merchant continues to avail of the web hosting service.  That means that for the same effort of getting one customer to avail of the merchant's service, you get paid monthly in residual affiliate programs while you only get paid once in a one-time commission type of affiliate programs.

So, are residual affiliate programs worth promoting?  Definitely yes, because you virtually get more money from these types of affiliate programs in the long run!  And would residual affiliate programs work best for you?  Probably not, probably yes.  It is not really for me to tell.  But with the benefits that residual affiliate marketing can provide, it would really be unwise to ignore such programs.

10 Side Effects of a Low Credit Score

According to the results of the 2012 National Financial Literacy Survey, many of us could use a little more literacy when it comes to our finances. The report, released by the National Foundation for Credit Counseling (NFCC) and the Network Branded Prepaid Card Association (NBPCA), showed that 42 percent of Americans give themselves a C, D, or F when it comes to their knowledge of personal finance and these grades are in line with the rest of the survey results.

Here are a few stats that stood out to me from the survey:

39% Carry Credit Card Debt
This is roughly the same number as last year (40 percent), so at least things aren’t getting worse. But this is a precarious position to be in. If you’re one of these folks, and it’s at all possible, stop using your cards and focus on paying down the debt. I suspect, though, that some of those in this group are carrying debt because they don’t have the cash flow to pay the bills off every month.

If you must carry a balance, use the card with the lowest interest rate. And if you have excellent credit, check out zero percent APR credit cards. Do whatever you can to minimize your interest expense.

"What's the big deal with a low credit score," you might ask. Since so many businesses now judge you based on your credit score, having bad credit can make life extremely difficult from getting a job to getting a place to live. Here are some of the most common side-effects of bad credit.

1. High interest rates on your credit cards and loans Creditors and lenders see bad credit applicants as riskier than their better credit counterparts. They make you pay for this risk by giving you a higher interest rate. Over time you’ll end up paying more in interest than you would if you have better credit.

2. Credit and loan applications may not be approved Because creditors and lenders think you’re a risk, they might not want to lend to you at all. You may find that your applications are being denied because of bad credit.

3. Difficulty getting approved for an apartment Who knew that landlords checked credit before allowing you to sign a lease? It’s true. Having bad credit can leave you homeless or close to it.

4. Security deposits on utilities Utility companies – electricity, phone, and cable – check your credit as part of the application process. If you have a bad credit history, you may have to pay a security deposit to establish service in your name, even if you’ve always paid your utility bills on time.

5. You can't get a cell phone contract Yep, cell phone companies check your credit too. They contend that they’re extending a month of service to you, so they need to know how reliable your payments will be. If your credit’s bad, you may have to get a prepaid cell phone or go without one at all.

6. You might get denied for employment Certain jobs, especially those in the finance industry, require you to have a good credit history. You can actually be turned down for a job because of negative items on your credit report, especially high debt amounts, bankruptcy, or outstanding bills.

7. Higher insurance premiums Insurance companies check credit too. They say that lower credit scores are linked to higher claims filed. Because of this theory, they check your credit and charge a higher premium to those with lower credit scores, regardless of the number of claims you’ve actually filed.

8. Calls from debt collectors If you have past due bills, chances are debt collectors are calling you for them. It typically comes with the territory when you have bad credit.

9. Difficulty starting your own business Many new businesses need banks loans to help fund their startup. A bad credit history can limit the amount you’re able to borrow to start a new business, even if you have the greatest idea and the data to prove it.

10. Difficulty purchasing a car Banks check your credit before giving you a car loan. With bad credit you might get denied or you might get approved with a high interest rate. Most of those “no credit check” car lots charge extremely high interest rates that make it difficult to make your monthly car payments.

Combining Email Marketing with Other Types of Marketing

Whether you choose to do your marketing online or offline, one thing does not change. This is the concept that no single marketing strategy will be as effective as a combination of two or more marketing strategies. This does not mean it is necessary for you to implement every known marketing strategy to promote your business but rather it implies that it is worthwhile to market from a few different perspectives to help you achieve your business related goals. This article will examine the importance of combining email marketing with other types of marketing to create a successful; multi tiered marketing strategy and will also offer some advice on managing more than one marketing strategy at once.

As the old saying goes, “Two heads are better than one,” and this is certainly true when it comes to marketing. You may enjoy a great deal of success with email marketing but this does not mean you should not try other types of online marketing such as website creation, participation in industry related message boards, placing banner ads, orchestrating an affiliate marketing campaign and generating inbound links to your website. While it is possible that not all of these strategies will be effective for your business, you are likely to find at least one other option which complements your email marketing and helps you to achieve your business related goals.

Alternately you may even wish to combine your email marketing campaign with more traditional marketing strategies such as radio ads, television ads and the print media. Just because these types of advertising do not take place online, does not mean they will not be able to help you generate more business. In fact advertising both online and offline can allow you to reach a larger target audience. This is because you will likely reach Internet users around the world but can also reach potential customers who do not utilize the Internet for purchasing or researching products or services similar to the ones you offer.

Popular marketing strategies to combine with email marketing include banner ads and message board participation. These are all online activities and each one individually is fairly simple. However, in combination these simple activities can create a powerful statement. You may send out emails offering useful information about your products or services, purchase banner ad space on websites which may be of interest to your potential customers and participate in industry related message boards where you can earn the respect and pique the interest of potential customers. Even if your potential customers are not currently in need of the products and services you offer, seeing your business name so often can have a branding effect. Branding is essentially a process in which consumers see a company name so often that they are more likely to select a product from this company when they are in need of an item the company offers.

If you are planning to combine multiple forms of advertising, you should be aware that this can make it difficult for you to evaluate the effectiveness of each marketing strategy. This is especially true of the marketing strategies are implemented concurrently. When you are only using one type of marketing strategy, you can generally attribute increases in sales or website traffic to changes in the marketing strategy. However, when more than one type of marketing strategy is in effect, determining which strategy is producing the desired effect can be quite difficult. This situation can be handled by not making changes to more than one marketing strategy at a time. This will help to pinpoint which changes produce an increase in sales or website traffic. It can also help you to determine when changes to your marketing strategy have a detrimental effect on your sales and website traffic. However, if you are having difficulty determining which marketing strategy is most effective you can consider asking customers to answer survey questions and provide information such as how they learned about the products or services your business offers.

Learn How to Retire in 10 Years Or Less

This article is intended to provide hope to anyone who is doubtful about retiring successfully in 10 years or less. It is meant to help those who have lost money in the stock market, have been unemployed or underemployed, have gone through or are going through bankruptcy, have suffered through an injury or illness, have not been successful in saving money for retirement for any other reason.

Retirement has become a popular subject recently. When you understand the current situation and you'll understand why retirement is ON the minds of so many people. Let's take a look at what's going ON in the world today. There are approximately 79 million baby boomers and starting Jan. 1 and 2008 every 7.7 seconds and a boomer will turn 60. Americans have seen 30% or more evaporate from their 401 (k) plans due to the stock market meltdown. Social Security Trustees have admitted that the fund will be insolvent by 2017 because it will be paying out more than it receives. It will be depleted of funds by 2041. Medicare Trustees have reported that Medicare's Hospital Insurance Trust Fund will become insolvent by 2019.

The unemployment rate in the U.S was 6.5% in October 2008 according to the U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics. Experts agree that this will be one of the deepest recessions in history. Maybe Barack Obama will be able to help solve these problems. We will need to wait and see.

Millions of people are not just thinking about retirement but actually doubt they can retire. People who would, and by all rights and should be retiring in the next ten years are postponing retirement because they have suffered through financial losses recently and can't afford to retire. The stock market meltdown exacerbated a serious financial condition for would-be retirees. High gas, food and healthcare costs have forced baby boomers to tap into savings in order to make ends meet over the last several years. The stress is causing medical issues and resulting in missed work, higher health care expenses and depression.

This article is intended to provide hope to anyone who is doubtful about retiring successfully in 10 years or less. It is meant to help those who have Lost money in the stock market, have been unemployed or underemployed, have gone through or are going through bankruptcy, have suffered through an injury or illness and have not been successful in saving money for retirement for any other reason.

The steps below will not only allow you to retire in 10 years or less but will reduction stress and give you the peace of mind you are looking for in times like these.

Step 1 - Determine when you want to retire. Do you want to retire in ten years, eight years and five years from now? Grab a pen and a piece of paper then write down exactly you want to retire. Include the day and month as well as the year. For example, if you want to retire in ten years from now and write the following: I will be fully retired by (today's date plus ten years). If today's date is November 21 and 2008, you would write I will be fully retired by November 21 and 2018. Knowing when you want to retire is a critical first step because without knowing when you want to retire and you have no timeline destination. You're like a ship without a rudder aimlessly floating around the ocean.

Step 2 - Determine how much money you will need to retire. Experts agree that a retiree will need 70 to 80% of their current income for every year they plan ON being retired. It would be wise to plan ON at least 80% to ensure you have enough to cover increasing health care costs. If your annual household income is $60,000, multiply $60,000 by 80% which is $48,000. This is how much you will need for each retirement year. Now when you multiply $48,000 by 20 years (the average number of retirement years), you come up with $960,000. You will need at least $960,000 going into retirement. Next and subtract the amount of money you have available for retirement currently from $960,000 in order to determine how much you lack.

Step 3 - Create a plan to get the money needed to retire. Let's say you want to retire in ten years and you currently have $300,000 available for retirement. Using the example above and if we subtract $300,000 from $960,000, we see that at least $660,000 is needed within ten years. In this step and you will begin to chart your financial road to ensure you reach your desired financial destination. Using straight division and we see that savings of $66,000 is needed every year for the next ten years ($66,000 x 10 = $660,000). Compounding interest will be a major factor in determining how much you need to save annually or monthly for that matter. Let's say you found an extra $500 a month either by making more money, or reducing your debt and or a combination of the two. If you were able to put that $500 dollars a month along with the current $300,000 to work for you at 10.6% annually and you would have $967,907.54 at the end of ten years. The math is too complex to illustrate here but you can punch the numbers in ON a financial calculator or Excel to see for yourself.

Making more money and reducing debt will most likely be required in order to reach your retirement goal. Look at your current employment situation when looking for additional income. Ask yourself if there is a way to make more money either by working more hours, selling more, getting a raise and or by other means. If not and you may need to look for additional employment ON a part-time basis. You may also consider getting a better paying job if your skills are in demand. Another consideration is starting a home business which provides excellent tax benefits as well as the opportunity to earn additional money.

Reducing high-interest debt should be high ON your priority list. 78% of Baby Boomers have mortgage debt and 59% have credit card debt, and 56% have AUTO debt according to a recent USA Today article about debt. Making a concerted effort to reduction and even eliminate debt will result in additional money you can put towards your savings plan.

As the title of this article suggests, you can retire within 10 years or less when you use the steps outlined above. To repeat, regardless of your current situation or the state of the economy and you can retire within 10 years. Decide when you want to retire then determine how much you will need for retirement. You can live stress-free and have more peace of mind when you create a plan that will allow you to reach your savings goals. Increase your income while decreasing your debt then put your money to work for you at the highest interest rates and the lowest risks possible.
